Give me some McLovin…

I say, “I’m lovin it”… McDonalds is an international, multi-billion dollar company that has some of the most creative, and clever advertisements to date. Just recently, I was researching campaigns that McDonalds has done, and I came across some of the most unique print advertisements. The first ad, I fell in love with, was a billboard ad that McDonalds used to promote their salads. What they did, was they took actual fresh lettuce, and used it to create the words “FRESH SALADS”. I mean it does not get any better then that! Not only is the message short and sweet, it is eye catching and draws attention to the ad itself. It is to the point, easy to read, and creates positive buzz about the restaurant….McGenius!!!

The second campaign, I stumbled across was a series of magazine advertisements, targeting young children, and their parents. It was obviously promoting McDonalds, but it was aiming to draw the attention of people with kids. The overall theme, of the advertisements, is “Make a deal”. The ads are very straightforward, and target a specific group of consumers. The campaign is very interesting and targets families in a really cute, humble, and heartwarming way. Again, the ads are eye catching, to the point, and short and sweet.

Another advertisement that McDonalds has used in the past that I find very McFabulous, is a magazine ad that targets everybody and anybody. The ad promotes McDonalds as a whole, and the message is “Come as you are”. It is very simple, targets a broad amount of consumers, and is a strong message that is kind and invites you in. The general idea of the advertisement is, that McDonalds is a restaurant that is for everybody, and it does not matter who you are, or what you are, it is a restaurant for you. The ad itself, is easy to read, to the point, and creates a positive message that is kind and targets everybody.

In a nut shell, I give these McDonalds advertising campaigns an A ++. All I can say my friends is Brittany Curran is “lovin it” and so should you.

Pass the Milk...

After watching this advertisement for Oreo Fun Stix's i was very rattled, and concerned... i guess you could call me old fashioned, but when i am enjoying a glass of milk i would rather have a cookie then a stix straw? I mean really? Come on now Nabisco.... Oreo Stix's?? Don't get me wrong it is very creative, and a unique way to enjoy a Stick of Fun? But it is just not the same as eating a delightful, delicious, and cream centered Oreo cookie.

Although kudos to Nabisco for coming up with a very clever slogan that is catchy, and captures the target audience. I mean the entire commercial was very weak, dull, and a yawn but the end slogan "milks favorite cookie" was absolutely brilliant. I find it simple, to the point, and that it targets a broad amount of consumers. Seriously you are never to old for milk and Oreo's. One problem though Nabisco these so called Fun Stix's are not cookies?? There Straw Stix's. They are not the same as a cookie, but good try. Maybe "milks favorite stix of fun" ? It does not flow the same but at least it is what it is.

One thing that did not rub me the right way, was the end when the little boy says something around the lines, "ohhh grow up brandon". I found this line was very unnecessary and who names an elephant Brandon?? If that was actually what the boy said. Come on Nabisco if you are going to make the little guy speak make sure it is loud and clear. Also we all know that if you are going to name an elephant you name it DUMBO....classic mistake... work on that Nabisco.

Overall, i find myself at the end of the day not thinking that Oreo Fun Stix's are very fun or even my milks favorite cookie. And thats the way the Oreo crumbled folks!!!
