Diamonds are Shreddies Cereals Best Friend...

They sparkle, they shine, they can cause crime, and they even make me rhyme... Diamonds are Brittany Curran’s and Shreddies Cereal’s Best Friend! Shreddies new and improved campaign for the quote on quote “New Diamond Shaped Shreddies” is pure gold…

This campaign is a perfect example of how “consumers consume” advertising and marketing as a whole… Every little consumer has an opinion on a certain brand and how that brand is portrayed. Sometimes the poor little consumer doesn't stand a chance in the ways of selling and promoting a product. Exhibit A: Shreddies Diamond Cereal is a perfect example of how one little adjustment in a product can rebrand, refresh, and reinvent the brand, and the brand image overall in a consumers mind. Shreddies Cereal has proven that a brand can make a big change by… wait for it… “NOT CHANGING AT ALL” …. Absolutely mind-blowing!

This campaign is the reason why I love advertising and marketing because one idea and one concept can change the “BIG picture” and stir up the bowl … Mind you this can be a very good thing… but it can also hit you where it hurts! It is actually amazing how such a simple, and yet creative idea can effect/change the minds of many and cause such a 45 degree spin on such a square cereal brand...

But what can I say people breakfast is the most important meal of the day!

  3. Now Gregory, I maybe in advertising but I am also a consumer, and Shreddies cereal, I personally think is not trying to make consumers look stupid. It is a brand that is using sarcastic, clever, and unique humor to advertise and get people interested in the brand. The brand is not trying to make consumers feel like idiots and look like idiots, it is just using idiotic humor to bring back the spark of the overall brand. And overall, it has been very successful and we should not take it to seriously because one of the main things advertisers focus on is the consumer, and why would a brand make fun of the person they are trying to impress?
