Bulls, Cigarettes, Scared Horses...

So it’s been awhile since I have updated my blog and posted something that I know creates a BIG explosion of “intense amazingness “in all your minds. Truthfully it’s been awhile for many things in my life, if you catch my drift. For example I don’t even remember the last time that I had a meal that did not consist of wine and cigarettes. Unfortunately, that was a lie. You see I am not cool enough to smoke cigs, and I don’t love wine, wine loves me.

I could go on forever and tell you bull feces about why I have not been updating my blog but really I can just sum it up in one sentence. I have not been in the mood, nor have I had any ambition or motivation to write and I just have not cared about it. I know…. Well then why did you start a blog in the first place?

Because when I am in the mood and am inspired by something my mind goes 100 miles per minute and I want to tell everyone I know. I think lately I just have not been inspired which is kind of sad BUT I don’t want to sound like a mopey dopey so lets move on. I think sometimes it is hard to express how you feel about something and it takes a lot of guts to tell the truth about what you really think. Telling the truth is very risky, because there’s always someone who is not going to like your opinion/answer.

This is probably very obvious information that you all know and some of you probably think that I am rambling on about useless information. Others might think man this girl really needs to take off the sweat pants and put on a pair of jeans and get out of her room for once in her life. “Truth” is I am just telling you what’s on my mind and what I am thinking and feeling. I won’t lie, expressing my feelings about certain things, scares the shit out of me, cause I never know how people are going to react or interpret my opinion.

For example, when my boss asks me “britt what do you think?” or “britt can you come up with some ideas for this…?” I am literally terrified of the reaction that I will have to face in that upcoming moment. Am I going to get the head nod? Which means, “yeah I like it!” or am I going to get the look down? Which means “swing and a miss”.

This is the thing you never know how people are going to react! You just got to go with it, and hope that it works out. If it doesn't than at least you tried, and were honest about your stupid feelings and opinions that we all disappointingly have. I know this, saying is over used but “if you do not succeed try, try and try again”. The thing is though, the person that said this was just telling the truth and was inspired to share their thoughts with someone, and I am sure it helped some people and did not help others. I have said it once before and will say it again “different strokes for different folks”.

To sum it all up don't put up with the bulls throwing their feces at you, stand up and out! Be that horse that grabs the bull by the horns and tells them how they really feel. Nobody likes a scared horse.

Fearing Fertile Friday’s…

The following words are not in my vocabulary:

PREGNANT, BABIES, CHILDREN, SPERM, EMBRYO, BIRTH, VAGINAL BIRTH, BREASTFEEDING, FERTILIZATION, “MOMMY” and the list keeps on going.

Gentlemen hear me out, ALWAYS remember to not be a fool! And please oh please ALWAYS wrap your tool!

Ladies if you don't make your man wrap his tool, you might as well forget about buying “ALWAYS products” or any type of good old girly protection because you will be saying the words that I fear the most.

PROTECTION= NO BABIES

NO BABIES= HAPPINESS, FREEDOM, LIFE NOT OVER (in my personal view)

The following print ads are seriously amazing, and truly speak words of wisdom for all.

The only type of morning sickness that this broad (pointing at self and giving a witty wink) will ever have will be due to “injecting” a ridiculous amount of liquor into my body. The only P words that are in my personal vocabulary are PROTECTION, PREVENTION, PULLOUT, PROJECTILE PUKING, and PERIOD. Happy Friday Everyone! J

Marvelous Menstruating Mondays...

Why are tampon ads so ridiculous?

I ask myself this question every time I watch a completely unrealistic tampon commercial, and apparently so does UbyKotex. Their beyond brilliant, television advertisement above, seriously deserves a round of applause. Its so refreshing seeing a brand such as this, coming up with a humorous and clever ad that uses sarcastic humor to reach consumers. I truly believe that the most effective ads are the ones that are somewhat truthful and honest. A perfect example of a powerful and fearfully honest media campaign is the Montana Meth Project. This organization has created some of the most scary, sad, and brutally honest television ads I have ever seen. They use fear and emotion to reach an audience, and achieve impact. One hard-hitting t.v. ad that they use that gives me goose bumps every time I watch it, is the " Just Once" ad seen below.

Not only do these ad campaigns speak the truth, but they are effective at getting their message out to their intended target audience. They grab your attention right from the beginning and hold onto it until the very end of the ad. They use humorous and fearful sarcasm to get their message out to consumers. Not only is this pardon my french "ballsy" but it is creative and out of the box.

The truth works. Period.

Aww… The Beauty Of Time Management!

Hello, Everyone! When I say everyone I mean to those who read my unfulfilling, unfortunate, “I cant believe I just wasted my time reading this”, blog. So basically Hi Mom! I know, I know, I am guilty of being a sexy chick. But that's beside the point I apologize for not posting frequently. I am going to try and work on that. But you see Brittany Curran is one of those girls that do not know how to time manage. She also needs to get her life together and will be working on that ASAP. There is no excuse for not posting, so everyone (Mom), I am going to “TRY” and start posting every week! Now I know your all jumping for joy right now…. not really but that's ok! I am going to spice things up a bit and be a little crazy by,

One: posting once a week.

Two: changing things up every month by posting on certain days of the week. For example I will post once a week and it will be every Monday or Friday. So Manic Mondays, or Frequent Fridays will be when I post within that month.

Three: exploring and posting about experimental marketing/advertising, different ways companies and businesses advertise their products, and so on…

So yes, just a heads up! Get ready for your mind to be blown!

Diamonds are Shreddies Cereals Best Friend...

They sparkle, they shine, they can cause crime, and they even make me rhyme... Diamonds are Brittany Curran’s and Shreddies Cereal’s Best Friend! Shreddies new and improved campaign for the quote on quote “New Diamond Shaped Shreddies” is pure gold…

This campaign is a perfect example of how “consumers consume” advertising and marketing as a whole… Every little consumer has an opinion on a certain brand and how that brand is portrayed. Sometimes the poor little consumer doesn't stand a chance in the ways of selling and promoting a product. Exhibit A: Shreddies Diamond Cereal is a perfect example of how one little adjustment in a product can rebrand, refresh, and reinvent the brand, and the brand image overall in a consumers mind. Shreddies Cereal has proven that a brand can make a big change by… wait for it… “NOT CHANGING AT ALL” …. Absolutely mind-blowing!

This campaign is the reason why I love advertising and marketing because one idea and one concept can change the “BIG picture” and stir up the bowl … Mind you this can be a very good thing… but it can also hit you where it hurts! It is actually amazing how such a simple, and yet creative idea can effect/change the minds of many and cause such a 45 degree spin on such a square cereal brand...

But what can I say people breakfast is the most important meal of the day!

Give me some McLovin…

I say, “I’m lovin it”… McDonalds is an international, multi-billion dollar company that has some of the most creative, and clever advertisements to date. Just recently, I was researching campaigns that McDonalds has done, and I came across some of the most unique print advertisements. The first ad, I fell in love with, was a billboard ad that McDonalds used to promote their salads. What they did, was they took actual fresh lettuce, and used it to create the words “FRESH SALADS”. I mean it does not get any better then that! Not only is the message short and sweet, it is eye catching and draws attention to the ad itself. It is to the point, easy to read, and creates positive buzz about the restaurant….McGenius!!!

The second campaign, I stumbled across was a series of magazine advertisements, targeting young children, and their parents. It was obviously promoting McDonalds, but it was aiming to draw the attention of people with kids. The overall theme, of the advertisements, is “Make a deal”. The ads are very straightforward, and target a specific group of consumers. The campaign is very interesting and targets families in a really cute, humble, and heartwarming way. Again, the ads are eye catching, to the point, and short and sweet.

Another advertisement that McDonalds has used in the past that I find very McFabulous, is a magazine ad that targets everybody and anybody. The ad promotes McDonalds as a whole, and the message is “Come as you are”. It is very simple, targets a broad amount of consumers, and is a strong message that is kind and invites you in. The general idea of the advertisement is, that McDonalds is a restaurant that is for everybody, and it does not matter who you are, or what you are, it is a restaurant for you. The ad itself, is easy to read, to the point, and creates a positive message that is kind and targets everybody.

In a nut shell, I give these McDonalds advertising campaigns an A ++. All I can say my friends is Brittany Curran is “lovin it” and so should you.

Pass the Milk...

After watching this advertisement for Oreo Fun Stix's i was very rattled, and concerned... i guess you could call me old fashioned, but when i am enjoying a glass of milk i would rather have a cookie then a stix straw? I mean really? Come on now Nabisco.... Oreo Stix's?? Don't get me wrong it is very creative, and a unique way to enjoy a Stick of Fun? But it is just not the same as eating a delightful, delicious, and cream centered Oreo cookie.

Although kudos to Nabisco for coming up with a very clever slogan that is catchy, and captures the target audience. I mean the entire commercial was very weak, dull, and a yawn but the end slogan "milks favorite cookie" was absolutely brilliant. I find it simple, to the point, and that it targets a broad amount of consumers. Seriously you are never to old for milk and Oreo's. One problem though Nabisco these so called Fun Stix's are not cookies?? There Straw Stix's. They are not the same as a cookie, but good try. Maybe "milks favorite stix of fun" ? It does not flow the same but at least it is what it is.

One thing that did not rub me the right way, was the end when the little boy says something around the lines, "ohhh grow up brandon". I found this line was very unnecessary and who names an elephant Brandon?? If that was actually what the boy said. Come on Nabisco if you are going to make the little guy speak make sure it is loud and clear. Also we all know that if you are going to name an elephant you name it DUMBO....classic mistake... work on that Nabisco.

Overall, i find myself at the end of the day not thinking that Oreo Fun Stix's are very fun or even my milks favorite cookie. And thats the way the Oreo crumbled folks!!!
